Helping out Hungry Students
Donation protected
The Tompkins County Farm Bureau is again teaming up with the Groton FFA, the TST BOCES FFA and Jay Dietershagen of Crossroads Bar and Grille to raise money for the School Food pantry program in our county schools. The 2nd annual ride begins on July 2nd and will end on July 14th.
We will send Jay off on his bike ride to Thru the Empire trail system. Would you sponsor him? Whether you support jay with his miles or a flat donation. He will be returning on July 14th to Myers Park in Lansing at 6 pm. There will be a chicken dinner fundraiser and a concert in the park that night.
Our goal is to raise $12,000 this year to give $2,000 to each school. The schools use this money to send students food and basic supplies home during weekends and holidays. When supported through their school years, these students graduate, develop careers, and become contributing members of the community.
The ag students will be helping cheer jay on with updates and how this food insecurity impacts our community. They will also be promoting all the way agriculture is helping to close the gaps in our community with food sources.
We are trying to make a difference with this fundraiser and fight hunger in Tompkins County. We hope we can count on you to help us reach our goal and STRIKE OUT HUNGER in our schools.
