My name is Moses and I was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. Growing up there teaches you very early how difficult life can be. Many things that people in the Western world see as normal are daily struggles for millions of families.
As a child, I experienced firsthand how challenging it can be to grow up in Nigeria. Basic things like reliable electricity, stable housing, access to healthcare and consistent opportunities are not always guaranteed. Families often have to work extremely hard just to cover the essentials of everyday life.
For many children in Nigeria, life is about resilience from a very young age. Parents do everything they can to provide for their children, but the financial pressure of school fees, medical needs and daily living expenses can be overwhelming.
When I moved to the United Kingdom at the age of 20, it opened my eyes to a completely different reality. Things that are often taken for granted here, stability, opportunity and access to support are things many families back home still struggle with every day.
While I am grateful for the life I have been able to build, my family back home in Nigeria continues to face many of these challenges.
This fundraiser is simply my way of supporting them with some of the everyday financial pressures they face. The funds raised will help with important needs such as school fees for my nieces and nephews, medical expenses when they arise, and general living costs that help the parents provide a more stable environment for the children.
My goal is to ease some of the financial burden on the family so the children can focus on their education and have a better chance at building a brighter future.
Any support, whether through a donation or simply sharing this page, would mean a lot to me and my family. Every contribution, no matter how small, truly makes a difference.
