Jordan is struggling with unexplained liver failure and currently on the liver transplant list and in need of help!!
Jordan is the true definition of living life to the fullest. He exudes kindness and goodness wherever he goes. Anyone who knows Jordan knows that he cares for everyone else above himself. He is the most kind, loving, and passionate person that most people have ever met. He's the friend you can always call that will drop everything and be there for you, and the person you can count on to make you laugh, even on a sick bed. Jordan loves his wife and his dogs, is always outside, whether it's skateboarding, camping, snowboarding, or his newly picked hobby of skiing. Unfortunately, Jordan needs our help and it isn't easy for him to ask for it! Let's get him back on the slopes!!

Jordan fell sick at the end of July and was having major discomfort. While going on a walk Monday, August 2nd, his wife Brooke noticed that he was jaundice and his eyes were yellow. They immediately rushed him to the hospital, where he was admitted from August 2-8th, due to dangerously elevated liver enzymes levels, and a spike in his bilirubin (which is what is currently still making him jaundiced). They performed numerous tests throughout that week, and were able to cancel out a number potential causes, however the true cause was never determined. While the cause is still unknown, Jordan was then released with the requirement for twice weekly labs to monitor his liver enzyme levels and bilirubin. We were excited to see some levels go down, however others have since began to rise leaving doctors still unsure of the cause. Unfortunately, his bilirubin and other enzyme levels are still rising and in dangerous territory, which has landed him a spot on the liver transplant list. On September 9-13th, Jordan was again hospitalized for monitoring because his dangerously elevated bilirubin levels resulted in itchy skin and extreme fatigue, and the Dr's pushed his screening further up the transplant list, conducted all the necessary testing, and he is now in the final screening process to be placed. While OHSU has worked diligently to monitor and get Jordan well, we are also seeking more help with a different liver specialist while he waits on the transplant list. This new specialist feels confident that he can reverse Jordan's current downfall into liver failure. While we are excited for this new liver specialist to be taking Jordan's case and working to get him better, this new specialist does not accept his current health insurance.
Jordan's sickness has left him in a state that doesn't allow him to continue work right now. We're hoping that Jordan's community can rally around him and help!! He is in need of financial assistance to cover the cost associated with the liver specialist and to keep him in his current home environment since it is comfortable, private, and free of stress. If you're unable to help financially, we ask for prayers and sharing of his story. The road to recovery, if possible without a transplant, will still be a very long one!!
