Helping Charlie Bun

Hi my name is Sharon and I’m fundraising for my gorgeous bunny, Charlie. He is 12 and a half years old and apart from arthritis and an eye issue he has been fit and healthy until the last week when suddenly out of the blue he developed breathing problems. On further investigation it was found he had bilateral pleural effusions part of which were drained, the remaining fluid has been managed with diuretics to date. The fluid was sent for pathology and several possible causes have been suggested on the report but none of this can be concluded without a CT scan for which he has now been referred. Unfortunately the stress of all this sent my poor boy into gastric stasis for which I have been nursing him both day and night for the last week with very little sleep. I’m sure you can imagine how exhausted I am especially having only lost Charlie’s brother Monty a few months ago go and my dear Mum just a few months before that! I’ve also had COVID twice very badly in the last few months so trying to deal with this now on top as I’m sure you can imagine is taking its toll and I haven’t been able to work for 8 months now which means I am now on half pay and incredibly anxious and stressed at what vet bills lay ahead!

Charlie is the sweetest, most tolerant and patient of buns, everyone who meets him falls in love . In the last week he has been faced with syringe feeds and five medication rounds per day, he sits on my lap gently taking it all in and gently tooth purring or giving me kisses as I comfort him through, he really deserves the very best and every chance I can give him but on half pay this is becoming increasingly more difficult which is why I am reaching out for help at this time.

This is a slightly unusual fund raiser as I am promising you that whatever you give now, when I am able I will pay you back as I do have inheritance coming to me but it just isn’t with me yet at the time when I need it most!

I completely understand that a lot of us are struggling financially at the moment but if you are able to donate even the smallest amount I will be eternally grateful and ensure you will get it back.
