Help for Handley!

Donation protected
On April 24, 2014 Chris Handley was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (stage 3).  Multiple Myeloma is a form of blood cancer.  Chris was having flu-like symptoms and was feeling pain in his hips when he decided to visit his family doctor.  After initial blood tests were completed by his doctor,  Chris was told that he needs to go to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse ASAP.  Shortly after arriving at Upstate, Chris was diagnosed with cancer.

Chris retired from a career in law enforcement less than a year prior to being diagnosed with cancer.  Chris spent 30 years as a member of DEC's Division of Law Enforcement.  Chris spent the first 13 years of his career as a Conservation Officer in Region 7 (Oswego County) and retired as a police lieutenant in Region 6 (Watertown).  Chris currently resides with his wife Debi in the Town of Ellisburg, Jefferson County.

The latest update pertaining to Chris's battle with cancer has him heading to Boston, MA to visit a cancer specialist.  Chris was through 3 1/2 cycles of chemotherapy when he began to have adverse side affects to the chemo treatment that he was receiving.  Chris's chemotherapy treatment was suspended immediately and he has since learned that his cancer cells are rapidly multiplying.  Hopefully after being seen by the specialist in Boston he will be placed on a new chemotherapy treatment that will combat the growth of his cancer cells.

Lets all keep praying for and remaining optimistic for this truly extraordinary individual.

Chris enjoys spending time with his grandchildren; Emma, Ainsley, Robert and Matthew. Let's work together to help their Opa!
