Help Zhao's Mom recover from fire explosion!

Yuan Zhao (Zhao Lao Shi) is a very responsible teacher with a good work ethic at Little Footprints Preschool. She is very natural in helping children to calm down and resume learning quickly!

Unfortunately, a catastrophic accident happened to her family on April 17, 2023. An e-bike exploded and caught fire in her mother’s and grandmother’s apartment at 3 AM, causing severe burns to 32% of her mother’s body including her face, limbs, hands, feet, and back. The doctor was able to save her mom’s life, but her mother is on a long road to recovery; needing multiple skin grafting procedures. Due to severe burns, her mother is in pain and unable to move much or sleep well. Her grandmother suffered from acute respiratory failure, and burns, had a heart attack and passed away after 15 days in the ICU. Zhao Lao Shi has to resign from her job to go back to care for her mother overseas.

Because the fire was caused by an explosion of the e-bike battery, her mother’s medical insurance puts the responsibility on the e-bike company and refused to pay for the medical cost. Sadly, the e-bike company was out of business. Last week, her mom did her first skin grafting. The doctor said she may need more skin grafting procedures done in the future. In the past month, the treatment of her grandmother and mother has cost 30,000 US dollars. For future hospitalization and skin grafting surgery procedures, the estimated costs are at least 100,000 US dollars.

Being the only child and with her father passing away when she was in her youth, Zhao Lao Shi is left to carry all the emotional and financial burdens of her family. Zhao Lao Shi has no other relatives in her province. She only has an aunt that lives over 900miles away in another province.
