Hi, my name is Zakiyah, and I’m reaching out because my husband and I were trying to keep our heads above water. We’ve spent nearly two years in survival mode — living on two then later one income, unable to improve our credit or pay down debt because every dollar went to food, rent, and utilities. We weren’t even approved for EBT until August 2025, which finally gave us some breathing room — but not enough to rebuild.

One of the hardest parts of this journey has been not having a car for the past few years. Without one, we’ve walked — often in the harsh Arizona sun — to local parks with our kids just to give them a sense of childhood. But we haven’t been able to explore our new surroundings or enjoy the family-friendly attractions that our state has to offer. We’ve felt isolated and stuck, and our kids have missed out on experiences that many families take for granted.

We want to change that — not just for our kids, but for our future.
