Help with Wayne & Littel's Living Expenses
Hey Guys, My name is Kim and I am Wayne's sister. Wayne has been battling covid for over three weeks now. He has been in the hospital for two weeks today. His stats have been good but he hasn't been able to sustain. He had a coughing spell last Monday and they wanted to place him on a ventilator. He told them no that he would beat this. God showed up big time as he was doing well until another coughing spell Thursday evening (8-26-21) sent his stats dangerously low. They were afraid they would lose him. They needed to vent him fast. He still did not want it but after a conversation with his wife, he shook his head yes. They said he had covid, viral pneumonia. The med staff said the vent process went well. His stats went back up and he maintained well the first night. By Friday morning, they had decreased his oxygen concentration from 100% to 80%. That day he got down to 65%. They want this as low as possible so he is doing as much of his own breathing as possible. His pressure was set at 14. This is an important stat that shows that his lungs are healing. A non-sick person's should be between 7-10. His oxygen saturation is staying in the 90's, as they should. His issue the whole time has been keeping the saturation # up as he moves or coughs. The damaged lungs have not allowed that. By early Saturday morning, they had reduced his oxygen concentration to 55% and his pressure was reduced to 13. He was maintaining saturation in the 90's still. They have had him on his tummy for 18 hours and then they turn him on his back for 6 hours. He is on lots of meds, one being a paralytic drug as long as he is on his tummy. They have him heavily sedated so his body will rest and allow healing. The paralytic is so he will not pull out any tubes. He has been very anxious this whole time. They turn off the paralytic when he is on his back. As of mid-morning yesterday, Saturday, he has been on his back. They have reduced his oxygen concentration to 30%!!!!! They reduced his pressure to a 10!!!! His saturation is still in the 90's. He has been maintaining this for over 24hrs so far. Wayne works for the Catawba County School system. He also works for a local church. Littel is in uniform management. They have a 7 year old son named Myles who just started 2nd grade. We are trusting and believing that God is healing Wayne and he will be back home with his family in Gods time. Since we do not know what that time frame looks like, they will need help. They have bills, a mortgage, vehicles to maintain, expenses for Myles, and of course they will have medical expenses. We are so very grateful for all of the prayers and we ask that you continue them as we still need them. If you feel lead to or are able to provide any additional support, they can surely use it. Along with this page, we have also created a Venmo account for those who use Venmo. You can donate using either one you like. The user name for the Venmo account is: Littel-Johnson. I will attempt to add the scan code as well. Again, Thank you all for your many prayers and support for Wayne and family. God Bless each one of you!!! -Kim
