Help Victoria Pay Immigration Lawyers (and move)

Spende geschützt
A number of friends have asked me to start a fundraiser for paying down these large costs and pledged their support in advance. In the time since I started this fundraiser, I have struggled to find work again due to my own difficulties and have had no income while upkeeping these costs has been tough and relentless. Things have been very difficult and I'm not eligible for benefits.

My graduate visa has ended. It was my hope that a company could sponsor a Skilled Worker Visa for me, but I have failed in that path. I am therefore applying for a visa on the basis of my private life where there would be very significant obstacles to integration in the country I'd have to go to, and while my family was willing to cover the application fee and IHS charge, they would not cover the costs of a lawyer. These are not simple cases and with advice from my partner and another immigration lawyer it was decided that a solicitor would be best placed to gather the relevant evidence for a successful application or otherwise win an appeal.

It is an open secret that I am Singaporean. I usually keep that quite secret because I am not proud of it. Leaving Singapore has been my life's work, as I resented nearly every aspect of growing up there. For perspective, a fellow transgender female Singaporean (and a friend of mine) has won an asylum case here over the prospect of having to serve reserve military service as a man. While I don't have the same grounds, I hope it speaks enough to the hostility of that population. I am similarly a transgender female and there would have been many obstacles in my way in that place.

In any case, I have always been culturally a world apart from that country. I have hated its conservative assimilationist culture and its governance since I was quite a young child. I changed my first and last name from the Chinese name I originally had before I'd even thought about my gender. I said to my family earlier this September that "I will be in great despair and depression if I return, and for me it will be as if I have lost everything. I cannot lose my life here without a fight as I will have nothing left." I left the place when I was 18 for university, but I think most people meeting me for the first time will have thought I have been here for far longer.

I am not planning to leave my partner or literally everything from my whole adult life behind here. A personal loan was taken to facilitate the aid of a lawyer, and any funds raised here will go towards that. Furthermore, as I'd learnt of this route to remain here quite late in the month of September, I could not keep my apartment and will have to move houses, with most of my possessions going to storage for the time being. I also had to resign from my job. The funds will also help pay back my moving costs.

The costs were:

£3000 for the lawyers
£948 for moving and storage
£150 monthly in storage upkeep
And whatever it'll cost to move my belongings again after I move out from living with my partner.

Thanks for your time and for any help you're considering giving.
