Help Vicky and Greg Rebuild After Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
Hello Everyone. As you know, Hurricane Helene has left destruction and chaos in her wake as she ripped through Florida. Our dearest friends, Vicky and Greg, are two such people who have been affected by the devastating aftermath. They and their fur babies are fortunately safe as they evacuated to a hotel, and then another when that one lost power, but they have secured the hotel for at least the next week. They need this because their home in New Port Richey is uninhabitable; the waters of the hurricane flooding and high tide brought water as high as 6' in some places and has destroyed everything in and out of their home. The cover picture is just the cover of the horror that they went home to when they were able to access their home. You can clearly see how high the waters went.
All of this being said, I am creating this page to try to raise money for them to be able to start over again. They are going to need extensive repairs to the home since they will need to remove most, if not all, of the drywall, doors, framing, and flooring in the home. They also need to replace most, if not all, of their furniture and belongings. They also need to be able to keep living and moving forward, so funds to help with food and basic necessities for them and their fur babies will be important. They, along with their close friends and family, are looking for and collecting resources to help them get through this incredibly tough time as they begin the journey to rebuild their lives and home.
I know that what I have set for a goal will not be enough to cover the vast amount of things that they need, but I hope that we can meet and even exceed this goal. Vicky and Greg are wonderful people who make friends wherever they go, whether from childhood, college (Vicky and I met at NEC and were in the same sorority), moving to new places (I met and lived with Greg while he and Vicky were living and working in the Washington, DC area), jobs/careers, their travels for work or for family, they have made a multitude. I hope that everyone who sees this is able to help, and if you can't, forward and share this to others who may. Please keep them in your thoughts, send supporting messages with the understanding that they may be too busy or too overwhelmed to reply, show your love to them and let them know that you care. Keep them in your prayers and in your hearts during this difficult time, and if you are able to donate, please do. It is going to a very worthy cause and two people who would do the same for us all if they could.
I will also work to share an Amazon registry for particular items that we know they need if you would prefer to buy something in particular. [Update: Here is the Amazon list, it is set up as a registry because that was the only way to really get it to work as needed. There are some essentials that they need for them and the fur babies, items they need to help with the destruction cleanup and some items they will need for then they are able to get back into their home. The list will continue to be updated and changed as needed. Thank you all so much !!!

If you or anyone you know is aware of resources for them to get any of the things they need (food, clothing, mattresses, furniture, etc.), please let them/us know.
Thank you!

Update: Here are some images that Vicky was able to share with me of what the home and Greg's vehicle looks like.
