Help Venezuela Migrants Rent Room Before the Cold
Donation protected
Hi there! As you can see from the story below, three Venezuelan migrants were bused to NYC from Texas after being told a shelter here would have room for them. However, that shelter ended up being overcrowded and now they’re mostly on the streets, trying to find work and — especially before the cold — a safe, dependable shelter.
They’re in contact with folks about cheap rooms to rent and jobs to get, but having some money in their pockets to pay for rent first is essential to setting them up for success.

Of course, this should not be the job of private individuals, but the government. But we all see how our systems are continually failing us, especially our most vulnerable. And again, especially before the cold, the UES Mutual Aid knows that the community can step up and help in this urgent situation.
