Vanilla appreciates all your help

Hello, my name is Vanilla. I just had an emergency surgery done and need a second surgery. it’s called a TPLO (tibial plateau leveling osteotomy)

It was more of an emergency because a piece of cartilage loges itself to where I was in a lot of pain. This was done June 25th. I am doing well but still not walking much as I still have a bad leg. My check up is Aug 22nd in Medford Oregon. That will also be the time when the second surgery is likely to be done. The travel is far and the after care is intense. My human, Kahish, takes very good care of me. She cares for the people all around our community and has taught me to be caring and respectful. I love to go to the rivers and beaches. I started limping a lot after playing and soon I couldn’t walk at all.

My husky mom had recently died and that has been hard on our family. My human looked into getting pet insurance after my mommy died. California has many restrictions and I did not qualify nor do most procedures including the surgery that I just had done. My active nature and extra pounds caused a “Cranial Cruciate Ligament Rupture” in both knees. My human was not financially prepared to handle the full burden of this cost. Our fundraising goal now includes help toward second surgery.
