Help Us Welcome Baby Jehoaquin

We are the Lumons (John, Lexi & Baby Jehoiaquin) a Family that’s full of faith, hope and love, all of which our soon to be born baby has taught us in this journey. 

Our son Jehoiaquin is our very first baby, our first born. He was conceived shortly before COVID, so we don’t consider him a “Quaratine” baby but a child that we wanted, planned for and longed for! God blessed us with this amazing little guy and ina few weeks (or sooner) he’ll make his debute into the world! 

We know that surrounded by friends and family, we’d be ok when it comes to basic baby needs, but COVID hit unexpectedly and provided a few challenges on its own. Generous friends and family members  Have been affected financially and some struggled; stay at home orders discourage social gatherings and what would’ve been a fruitful, exciting time of baby showers and blessings are now non-existent FOR ALL MOMS enduring this pandemic! Not to mention extra hospital bills stemming from unexpected complications along the way and treatment for advanced at risk pregnancy...things did get a bit overwhelming...but this is our journey and we wanted to share our story! 

Those friends and family members who could do something, have! And we’ve been grateful to receive blessings from those who have given so generously from their hearts and we never will take that for granted. John and I are thankful that we’ve stayed gainfully employed thus far throughout this whole pandemic, although there have been weeks where hours were more scarcer for John than we’d like, we count our blessings and remain grateful that we have done better than most. 

We got creative and turned our desire to nest into a fundraiser! Because we were able to sell some of our items to declutter our appartment, we were able to buy out many items on our baby registry. 

With literally a couple weeks away, there are still things we are believing for baby (available on our registry) but this particular fundraiser is for two important things: a growing diaper fund and funds so that John can take off work for a few days to help with baby and bond with his son. If John takes off work, he won’t get paid for the time he takes off and we’ve struggled with the thought of him having to go to work to help with bills and not being able to spend at least a few days with his first born. We hope to also raise additional funds for more diapers. We have a ton of baby wipes but only a few bags of diapers ininfant (newborn) sizes. We are just concerned that Jehoiaquin will outgrow these diapers quickly since he’s already a little bigger than he should be! :-) 

Since this is our first baby, we had to start from scratch and get everything needed for baby. We don’t have our parents to help us out or any brothers and sisters who can hand me down things. We’re grateful for what we have received from family and every bit helps! We never realized how much goes into preparing for a baby!

Preparing for Jehoiaquin has been an interesting journey, but we are willing to do whatever it takes to make it a successful one! Due to the nature of this season, we felt it appropriate to hold this GoFundMe to help us reach these two goals! You can also contribute via our registry, and that helps...but these two goals is what’s on our heart for the time being. Our faith shouts loudly and we know that with God, all things are possible! We have until the end of the month - it’s an aggressive goal but we’re willing to try, and everything we’ve done thus far has been a greater success than we could ever imagine! It’s also been well worth the effort and humility to hosts these things. 

If by any reason you’re not able to contribute - we TOTALLY understand! We know there are so many things that make this season hard for all of us, and trust me, our prayers are with you and we are believing that God will extend His amazing hand of provision your way just as He has done for us! We just had it on our heart to step out in faith and give people an opportunity to be a part of our journey! Thank you SO MUCH for all you do for us and our newbie coming real soon!
