In less than 4 years time the 30 year crown lease for Meadow Lake Fishing Camp is up for renewal.
Land values in the area have been rising exponentially in the past, increasing the yearly rent for the property which is tied at 3.5% of the land value, by almost 200% within the last 6 years, and over 1000% since the beginning of the current contract.
On top of this the Government decided to hike up the rent (the percentage of the land value) for renewed contracts to almost 9%.
So the rent will more than double in 2021.
This does not even include property taxes.
The only way to avoid raising accommodation rates into stupidity or going bankrupt is for Meadow Lake Fishing Camp LTD to buy the 2 acres of land in question.
In addition to lowering the cost for running the camp by about 25% now and possibly at least 50% in the future,
this will also enable whoever owns the shares of Meadow Lake to control a lot more of the surrounding area (i.e. roads, bridges, logging, lake stocking, regulations and access).
As every guest of Meadow Lake could see in the past years, we, the current owners Uli and Francesco Pahlevan put every penny they earned into renovating, improving and preserving this remote wilderness retreat. But there is a limit as to how much they can do and there is definitely a deadline (when the lease is up for renewal).
So please give generously, if you want to preserve this last bastion of true wilderness in our area...

Q: Is my donation tax deductible?
A: No. Only donations to legally recognized charities are tax deductible. We are a business in distress....
Q: What happens with the money if you don't reach your goal?
A: We will buy the land no matter what or how much of the goal was reached. All donations will be used to buy the land. On the other hand it also means that we will be taking up even more personal dept with the banks if the goal isn't reached.
Q: Do I get anything in return?
A: Yes, you do. There will be a "donor wall" recognizing every single donor. In addition to that we offer a special "thank you" perk for donors (past and future ones) donating over $500.
