Help Us Save Dan’s Life
Hello my name is Megan Mathew and I'm sharing this to try and help save my nephews life!!!
In 2019 at age 22 Dan experienced his very first seizure. It was completely unexpected, and after an MRI, our world changed forever. Dan was diagnosed with a Grade 2/3 astrocytoma — a type of brain tumour.
He underwent surgery, but due to the tumour being wrapped around a major artery in his brain, doctors were unable to remove it all.
For a while, Dan had regular MRI scans every three months. But in 2021, the tumour returned. He faced a second brain surgery, followed by six weeks of radiation and ten months of chemotherapy. It was an incredibly tough journey, but Dan pushed through with strength and determination.
After this, his scans were spaced out to every six months — until 2025, when the cancer came back again. This time, it appeared along the cavity lining, likely as a result of previous radiation treatment.
In August 2025, Dan travelled to Melbourne to undergo stereotactic radiation therapy at the 5D CyberKnife Clinic at a cost of over 15k . He then completed a further six months of chemotherapy.
Sadly, things have now taken a turn. Dan’s seizures have become more severe — his most recent lasting over two hours. Recent MRI results show the tumour has returned again at the original site, and it has now progressed from Grade 3 to nearing Grade 4.
Doctors in Australia have told us there are no further surgical or radiation options available. Chemotherapy is the only treatment left here — but it is no longer enough.
We are now urgently seeking alternative treatment overseas. There is hope in Germany through a specialised dendritic cell vaccine, an advanced immunotherapy that offers a real chance where other treatments have failed.
However, this life-saving treatment comes at a significant cost:
Treatment: $60,000–$70,000
Plus flights, accommodation, and medical travel expenses
We are asking for your help to give Dan a fighting chance.
Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to getting Dan the treatment he desperately needs. If you’re unable to donate, sharing Dan’s story would mean the world to us.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and for standing with Dan in this fight.
