Help Buddy (and myself) Get The Surgery We Need!
Spende geschützt
Hi everyone,
So I was hospitalized from Tuesday (8/13) - Friday (8/16) because of an abscess caused by diverticulitis. They placed a drain to clear the abscess and help manage the infection.
The following Sunday (8/18) our cat Buddy Sox had a blockage in his urethra that we had to go to the emergency vet to remedy. He came home the following Monday (8/19) and then was readmitted on Tuesday (8/20) because he was reblocked. They unblocked him again and he's been doing better since. But he will need a surgery soon to help further prevent blockages from happening again, which is quite pricey.
I was then rehospitalized on Thursday (8/22) - Wednesday (8/28). I spiked a fever and was starting to go septic so they kept me longer for observation and IV antibiotics.
After release, the doctors have said the drain will stay in place for possibly another 2 weeks before the possibility of removal. After everything is removed and healed up I require a colonoscopy to see if there is any further signs of infection leading to a possible surgery to remove part of my colon. Which will be another 2-3 weeks off work, on top of the already existing 5+ weeks currently.
UPDATE #1!
The drain came out on (9/6) which is good but I do have to have the surgery which will take place on the end of October. I'll be out of work for a minimum of 2 weeks with a possibility of 10 weeks depending on if there's any complications and how severe they are. Will post more updates depending on what happens.
UPDATE #2!
Today (9/19) I went to the podiatrist because ive been dealing with some pretty intense foot pain. Turns out I have severe arthritis in both of my big toe joins to the point that they're practically completely worn away. I'm going to need a surgery to help resolve the problem but nothing is a complete cure. Will post further updates as things move along.
So anything is a huge help to our family to help cover bills, money lost from me being unable to work, and to help cover surgery costs for Buddy Sox. Please continue to share and support. It is appreciated more that you can ever believe.
UPDATE #3!
Hi all, this is a long overdue update.
I had the surgery on November 5th and everything went perfect. No complications and everything is looking up. I ended up spending a week in the hospital recovering and then another 2 weeks home recovering. But now I'm back at work and getting back into the groove of things. But now we're hoping for some Christmas Miracles to happen so we can get back to living a less stressed out life.
As for Buddy, he is doing well. He is back to his normal self which is amazing. But we are still trying to get the funds together so he can have the surgery when its time. Better to be safe then sorry. So please help us in anyway. We greatly appreciate it. Have an amazing holiday.
