American Heroes In Recovery

MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH AND MEMORIAL DAY! LET'S SUPPORT OUR HEROES.

Our premier behavioral health facility, accredited by the Joint Commission, offers mental health and substance abuse services to veterans and active duty military personnel. We have organized a fundraiser to assist our Heroes on their path to healing and recovery.

WHO?
All United States Veterans and active duty military men and women.

WHY?
In our experience, we have observed a critical need for quality care among our veterans. Upon returning home, many Veterans encounter challenges adjusting to civilian life, leading to worsening mental health conditions and substance abuse (i.e. exacerbated PTSD, chronic addiction and daily suicidality). Moreover, there is a prevailing perception among Veterans and active duty military that they do not receive the level of care they rightfully deserve. They often find themselves in unsupportive environments, at risk for relapse, and living in substandard conditions. Due to the challenges of healthcare bureaucracy and navigating local VA centers, Veterans are often prematurely discharged from treatment, denied treatment altogether or their MISSION ACT rights have been violated. In addition to mental health services, Veterans require stable employment, housing, transportation, and overall sense of value.

HOW WE PLAN TO HELP
We will utilize your generous donations to bridge the gap between what has proven to be ineffective and what we know will optimize quality of life for our Veterans:
  • Suicide prevention
  • Long-term intensive treatment
  • Continuity of care
  • Stable employment
  • Quality transitional and permanent housing
  • Family systems therapy
  • Spiritual growth and development
  • Social skill development
  • Crisis support team
  • Accountability
Our aim is to deliver high-quality mental health and substance abuse services at no cost to the Veterans, bypassing insurance obstacles that often hinder their recovery journey. Some of our services for Veterans include individual therapy, group therapy, IOP and PHP programs, medication management, Spravato for treatment-resistant depression, neuro-feedback, and genetic testing. Additionally, we offer holistic services like acudetox, music and art therapy, trauma-informed yoga, equine therapy, and various recreational forms of therapy. Veterans will have the chance to embrace a fulfilling life while receiving care from a team of dedicated and highly-skilled professionals who are committed to recovery and restoration.

MILITARY MENTAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE FACTS:
Service members often face ongoing exposure to traumatic incidents, stressors, and threats. Mental health-related symptoms and issues that disproportionately impact veterans include:

· Chronic Suicide

· Major Depressive Disorder (recurring-severe)

· Complex Post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD)

· Severe Substance Use disorders (SUDs), with multiple relapses

· Symptom of traumatic brain injury (TBI)

· Acute Anxiety and panic attacks

· Persistent Insomnia

· Dissociation

· Lack of access to quality care and continuation of care

· Lack of quality housing in which to start healing

Every year, the VA conducts the largest national analysis of veteran suicide rates. According to their 2023 National Veteran Suicide Prevention Annual Report – based on data from 2021 – veteran suicide rates increased by 11.6% from 2020. On average, according to the VA, more than 17 veterans take their own lives each day. However, a 2022 Duke University report suggested veteran suicides are underreportedand as many as 24 veterans a day die on average from suicide; an additional 20 die by “self-injury mortality,” otherwise known as drug overdose. The numbers are increasing among women especially.

If you are part of the 50 percent of Americans who believes our government has failed our heroes, please show your support by making a DONATION TODAY.

DONOR AND SPONSORSHIP REWARDS

Veterans cannot afford to wait for the internal VA system to fix itself. We must advocate on their behalf now! Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom.

Every little bit helps in showing our appreciation for their service.
