Help Us Make OUTspace a Reality!

For the last five years, we have been trying to set up an LGBT+ centre on Old Market and over the COVID19 pandemic, we've been working hard and have almost managed to make this a reality!

We have been talking to lots of different groups, including Terrence Higgins Trust, Hidayah, Off The Record, Family Action and many more! The idea is to get as much good use out of the building as possible and to make a space that is welcoming and useful to all.

Our previous attempt was stifled when one of the people on our team sadly ended their lives, which has shifted the focus of this project to taking a holistic view on community mental health, and will be naming one of the counselling rooms after him.

OUTspace will be a community café and community centre based in Old Market, and will have counselling rooms, a queer library, exhibition/meeting space and smaller rentable spaces.

We're seeking funding to buy the whole building at the moment, so what were trying to raise here is to furnish and stock the community café.
