On their way to celebrate a loved one’s graduation, our parents—Jean and Rodney Kogler—were involved in a tragic motorcycle accident. After realizing they’d forgotten a card, they turned around but lost control and struck a ditch and culvert. Our dad, Rodney, passed away at the scene. Our mom, Jean, was transported to Butterworth Hospital, where she was being kept on life support until our goodbyes were said.

This loss is absolutely devastating. Jean and Rodney were the heart of our family—wonderful parents to my sister, my brother, and me. They were proud and loving grandparents, and just truly beautiful souls. They lived life loud and full of love, never missing a moment to spend with family and friends.

They were a wild couple, rednecks at heart, always full of laughter and stories. Heaven is gaining two wild angels who are sure to raise a little hell up there.

If you knew them, you knew they’d give you the shirts off their backs. Our dad never said no to anyone needing help with a project. Our mom had a way of becoming everyone’s mom—welcoming, comforting, and full of heart.

We’re asking for help to cover their funeral expenses and give them the farewell they deserve. Any amount helps, and even just sharing this means the world to us.
