It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating loss of our beloved Alexander Kristoffer Chavis, who left this world too soon on Saturday, April 5, at the age of 34. He was the cherished son of Angela Prather and brother to Cellena Chavis. Our hearts are broken, and we are devastated by the loss of a son, brother, and friend.
Alex was deeply loved by his family and friends, and his passing has left a void in so many lives. His kindness, warmth, and infectious spirit touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps, and for the past 8 years, Alex was a beloved and dedicated member of the Texas Roadhouse team in Oviedo, where he made lasting friendships and impacted many.
The family is asking for your support to help cover the burial expenses, bills that need to be taken care of, and to establish a scholarship in Alex’s name. This scholarship will honor Alex’s memory and continue his legacy of service and kindness.
There will be a there will be a memorial service at Texas Roadhouse 2859 Clayton Crossing Way Oviedo Florida from 10 am to 12 pm on Thursday, April 17. We can think of no better place than where he spent most of his time with his second family who he loved and loved him. Alex’s final resting place will be Arlington National Cemetery but there is a waiting list of 4 to 6 months. We will have a funeral service with full military honors. Those details will be shared at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations, no matter how small, would mean the world to us during this challenging time.
Thank you for your love, support, and prayers. Alex was not with us long, but he made an everlasting impact in his short time here. We are grateful for your support in honoring his memory.
With love, Angela Prather & Cellena Chavis
