Hello Everyone,
We are a group of six students that are trying to start up a new organization in hopes of bettering the lives of the people around us. We need your support to help our fledgling organization prosper. We are currently helping 5 families in need in the Tampa Bay area, one being Leslie Neris, a single mother of three. She and her 3 children, as young as 2 years old, have been living in a hotel since the day she arrived in Florida. Their home was in shambles after hurricane Maria did her damage on the Island of Puerto Rico. The roof of her home was torn completely off and there is no electricity or running water. She had no choice but to bring her children to Florida in hopes of a new life. She currently has nothing and is in need of our help to get back on her feet and to find a decent job to support her and her family. We are trying to raise funds in order to pay rent for her apartment until she finds a job.

Another family that we have recently come across is a family of seven. A widowed mother taking care of her five children and one orphan are struggling to make ends meet. The eldest son, 21 years old, has no time to have fun and spend his youth with friends or even going to school as he is the sole provider of income to the family. He works day and night earning less than minimum wage and lives paycheck to paycheck. Two of the girls, 16 and 17 years old, attend a high school two miles away and must walk during the early morning to reach the school on time. They do not live in the safest neighborhoods as they have had to hide due to the firing of gunshots and paranoia of getting hurt. The mother suffers a leg injury that was caused decades ago. With the funds, we plan on buying everyday necessities and help the mother with her injury.
The one thing that we found consistent with each struggling family was their attitude towards their situation. They laughed off their insecurities and the smiles on their faces gave away no indication of their predicament. The lively faces of the children hinted not the slightest sign of what they were facing and one would never suspect the difficulties that they are going through. They hardly get any visitors and were glad to have someone else to play with.
It would mean the world to the six of us and these five wonderful, yet struggling families. They need all the help they can get and the extra funding would be amazing. Thanks in advance for the support and we can't wait to see whats in store for the future!
