After fighting over 2-½ years to hold accountable a large CO-based property management company for exposing our family to toxic mold for almost a decade, we had to end our pursuit of justice. The costs of fighting this battle far exceeded our financial ability to see this through to the end, which, regrettably, prevented our case from reaching a jury.
Unbeknownst to us, this prolonged exposure to hidden mold and their toxic mycotoxins caused devastating health consequences for our family, including Steve's Parkinson's, along with neurological, immunological, gastrointestinal, respiratory, autoimmune, cognitive dysfunction, skin issues, and other symptoms.
Of all the adverse health impacts we endured, Steve's Parkinson’s diagnosis is the worst, as it has an undeniable outcome, slowly robbing you of your life. It is a progressive and debilitating neurological condition that requires specialized care, including regular medical evaluations, and physical, speech and occupational therapy to maintain functionality for as long as possible. As the disease worsens, it becomes impossible to afford the newer and better medications and treatments that insurance does not fully cover, as well as the need for long term care. Just recently, we had to turn down two recommended newer drugs due to the exorbitant monthly cost. One medication was just under $800 per 30-45 day supply. The other was just over $700/month for a 30 day supply. It is simply not sustainable.
Your donation, no matter how small, will help provide the medical care that is necessary as Steve's Parkinson's disease progresses and to help us afford the newer treatments that can help him endure some of the debilitating symptoms that affect him daily.
Please share our story and help us spread awareness about Parkinson’s disease and the health effects of exposure to mold and its mycotoxins.
We know we are not alone. Many others have suffered in silence from mold-related health effects with no help from conventional doctors who are not trained to identify or treat mold toxicity.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
Sincerely,
Steve's family
