Help us Bury our mum

Our Mum passed away on 31/10/2021 at the age of 53 after a ferocious but short battle with stage 4 lung cancer that had metastasised to her liver and her brain. She was diagnosed in June 2021.  Our mum had a funeral plan, however as she didn't make it to February 2022 they are unable to make the payment. We were told in August our mums life expectancy was 2 years, so this has come as an extreme shock to all of us that she made it only 4 months from the point of diagnosis. We have tried all avenues to make this possible, including applying for loans, funeral finance plans, scraping together what little we have and contacting all family however it's been to no avail. The funeral home made contact with the council to request help from them, however they have declined as mum had a pension (we are unable to access this without applying for probate) which can take 8 weeks alone, if not longer. We are absolutely desperate at this point, and hate asking for help but we just want to lay our mum to rest. The funeral home have said they can't keep mum until the probate is approved and the pension funds become accessible so they will return her to the hospital mortuary if we cannot find the funds beforehand. This is the most difficult time of our lives, more so with how hard things have been afterward to give our mum the send off she deserves.
