Help Us Bring Reniel’s Mom to Boston to Say Goodbye Hi, my name is Emily Andujar, and I’m organizing this fundraiser for my cousin, Reniel Hernandez, who tragically passed away on July 18, 2025. Reniel was more than just family—he was the heart of so many people’s lives. If you knew him, you knew joy. He was the kind of person who could light up a room just by walking in. He always had a joke ready, a helping hand, and a smile that made others feel seen, even when he was quietly going through his own battles. He had a deep love for music. He would play music at home, at gatherings, anywhere there was a speaker—and he proudly called himself a DJ. It didn’t matter if it was a small get-together or just him and his cats, Reniel brought life and rhythm to every space he was in. Speaking of his cats—they weren’t just pets to him. They were his babies, and he loved them like they were his own children. That’s just who he was: full of love, warmth, and laughter. He was also a devoted older brother. Even with distance between them, he and his little brother spoke every single morning—a daily connection that brought them both comfort and strength. And his mother, who lives in the Dominican Republic, never let a day go by without checking in on him and making sure he was okay. They were incredibly close, despite the miles. Now, we are asking for your help to bring his mother to Boston so she can be with her son one last time and attend his funeral in person. We are raising funds to help cover funeral expenses and airfare for his mother to travel from the Dominican Republic. Reniel didn’t have much, but he gave everything.
