We are Andrey and Danielle and we hope you will take a moment to read our story. Three years ago, our two worlds came together when we met. It was like the universes aligned and we were connected instantly. We fell in love. We have spent the last three years exploring the world, growing as individuals and growing as a couple. Andrey is full of life; his laugh is contagious, and his heart is enormous. He is the guy that will help you no matter the time or place. He holds friendships close and family even closer. I, Danielle, am the quieter of the two, but I love fiercely and am always looking out for those I love. We both believe in living our life to the fullest and fighting for the things we want the most. We believe in taking care of Mother Nature, having fun in life and learning to make the hard moments life lessons. We love learning together, experiencing new things and all-around enjoying life.
One dream the two of us have had since we met, is to have children together. I have 3 wonderful older children from my previous marriage that Andrey has taken in and loves as his own, however, the two of us cannot have children together naturally and that is devastating to us. Andrey wants nothing more than a large family and children of his own. Ones he can experience life with from the moment they are born and through all the stages of life.
When I was 23 years old, I had to have a hysterectomy for medical reasons. This was upsetting and even more so now. Thankfully, due to medical advancements, it is now possible. For us to have biological children together but we need a surrogate. Thankfully, I kept my ovaries, allowing Andrey and I to go through the IVF process to create embryos.
About a year and a half ago, we started the process. We were eager and excited to have little versions of us. We found a doctor, agreed to the IVF schedule and began the process of testing, taking medications and injecting all kinds of hormones. Everyday Andrey so sweetly and gently would give me my shots. I would shed a tear and he would kiss my stomach where the shot was given and remind me why we were doing this. Finally, after a month of injections and appointments, we went in for my retrieval. At first all our numbers looked amazing, with 30 eggs retrieved. By day 5 we were down to two embryos. Then we had those two tested and neither of them were healthy. We found out they were two little girls. We were broken. We felt like our already hard journey was harder and we didn’t know how we were going to move forward.
After mourning the loss off our hard work, we went back to the doctor eager to hear what we needed to do. This time, it was going to take more time. We were to take 3 months and change our lifestyle, cut back on meat, caffeine, alcohol and take vitamins and supplements recommended to us by our doctors. I researched and joined every IVF group I could because we needed to succeed this next round. After three months of lifestyle changes, it was back to a month of injections. Our lives revolved around the detail schedule of shots and doctor appointments. We were in the final days of the injections when Andrey had one surprise for me.
A couple days before the egg retrieval, Andrey whisked me off into a helicopter for the most breathtaking journey through Seattle. We flew over the city and into the mountains. The fall colors bursting with oranges and yellow. We flew into the mountain to a small lake hidden deep between the peaks. We landed and were looking over the turquoise water when Andrey got on one knee and asked me to marry him. Let me tell you, I thought this kind of thing only happened in movies. (Of course, I said yes) We were officially ready to conquer the world together.
When the retrieval day came, we were nervous. Last time was so upsetting. They retrieved 31 eggs this time. My heart sank not knowing what would happen. This time on day 5 we have 12 emb
The thing about surrogacy is, it’s expensive. This is where we are asking for your help. We have made it halfway through this journey so far. We have the embryos, now we just need the money to pay for the actual surrogate process. Andrey and I both believe when you want something bad enough, you make it happen. We have done some amazing things in the last 3 years and have plans to do even more amazing things. We want to share all these moments with our children.
We are hoping that you can find it in your heart to help us get one step closer to that goal. Even if you can only spare $5, this is $5 closer than we are now. Even sharing our story with a handful of people would help us get to our goal. We have a lot of love to give and hope you can see it and will help us on our journey to become parents together!
