Help Us Preserve Our Family Heritage: Ground Penetrating Radar Survey for the Larkin Kiser/Carpenter Cemetery
Dear Family and Friends,
As we work to maintain and honor our two family cemeteries, we have recognized the importance of understanding the history and the individuals buried at these sacred sites. In 2019, the Trustees undertook a significant initiative at the Lawrence Kiser/Huffstetler cemetery, commissioning a local company to conduct a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) survey. This survey revealed that the number of burials far exceeded what was visible from the grave markers, deepening our appreciation for our family’s legacy.
Now, we turn our attention to the Larkin Kiser/Carpenter cemetery, where we aim to uncover similar insights. We are in the process of establishing the Kiser/Huffstetler/Carpenter Association, which will facilitate future burials for family members who wish to be interred in this location. Currently, we have one family that has expressed a desire to be laid to rest in the Larkin Kiser/Carpenter cemetery. However, we face a challenge: we do not have a complete understanding of how many burials have taken place or their exact locations lending to not knowing what space is available..
To address this, we need to conduct another GPR survey, which will provide us with the necessary information to honor our family members appropriately. We are launching a fundraising campaign specifically for family members who have shown interest in our Facebook page, and we kindly ask for your support. Our goal is to raise $3,500 to complete this important task.
Your contributions will not only help us preserve our family history but also ensure that future generations can connect with their roots. Thank you for considering our request and for your continued support in preserving our family legacy.
With gratitude,
