Help: Typhoon Rolly Victims in Oas, Albay

Donation protected
Typhoon Goni (named Super Typhoon Rolly in the Philippines) was a powerful typhoon, with sustained winds of 220km/hr (140 mph) and gusts of 315km/hr (195 mph). It was considered the strongest typhoon experienced worldwide in 2020 so far.

It roared across the Bicol Region on November 1, 2020, causing devastation in communities along its path, including the municipality of Oas in Albay, Bicol Region. Agricultural crops, the main source of the town's livelihood, were destroyed. Houses were blown away. Most of the residents are starving as they await government assistance.

In the meantime, Our Lady of the Roses Montessori Learning Center of Ilaor Sur, Oas, Albay started to help the typhoon victims. The school initially raised about $1,800, from donations of the school owner, relatives and generous friends. The money allowed the purchase of rice, eggs, noodles, etc. for distribution to families in need. It took only a day to distribute whatever bags of food that was available that day.

The needs are still great. Many families are still starving. To my friends in the United States, I am appealing for your help. For only ₱300 (pesos) or $6, you can sponsor a food pack for one family. One pack includes: 3 kilos of rice, 1 dozen eggs, 6 packs of instant noodles and 1 pack of feminine hygiene pads.

Thank you very much.
