We love Tom Powell. And we want Tom to be able to hear properly! Friends are raising funds so he can get some excellent hearing aids (and fast!) Here is Tom’s story:

“My hearing has gradually declined over the last 10 years. What started out as not being able to hear a cricket that had got into the house (I thought Abby was playing a prank) has developed into now not being able to hear full sentences. Which of course leads to many embarrassing situations of repeating something someone has just said. I held onto the possibility that other people were simply not projecting or articulating their words for as long as I could, but I eventually swallowed my pride and went for a hearing test.

The results came back and the doc said, ‘These are numbers we normally see from people your parents age.’

The good news is the hearing aids I tried on were mind blowing.

They let me walk out of the doctor’s office to hear the birds and I couldn’t believe what I’ve been missing out on. It was astonishing. The bad news is the hearing aids cost $6,000 and are not covered by my insurance. I said, ‘THE BAD NEWS IS THE HEARING AIDS COST $6,000 AND ARE NOT COVERED BY MY INSURANCE!!’”
