Help to Maintain the Inniscarra Community Centre

Last year’s GoFundMe campaign was a great success, raising almost €6,000 from about 100 donors. It helped us to maintain the Centre and to keep facilities like the Walkway and the Children’s Playground open for most of the lockdown. Sadly, neither of these generate funding and we are once again faced with the problem of maintaining the facilities on reduced income.
The Centre made an operating loss of more than €10,000 in the year 2020; Insurance costs alone are €3,000. The ESB (€5,000) and phone bills (€1,200) still have to be paid. The grass has to be cut and burst pipes replaced. In addition this year we need to upgrade the lighting to more energy efficient lighting on the walkway. Granting authorities will part-fund the improvement but we will need to raise funds ourselves to supplement the grant. Improved lighting improves the security of the walkway and the facility.
