Imagine the courage it takes to leave behind your loved ones, language and culture and relocate to a foreign country, sight unseen. Imagine doing so with three young children during a global pandemic! Refugees are people who have been vetted and accepted by the US Government to seek refuge from persecution, war, sexual assault or murder. This brave, hard-working Sudanese family is settling into their new life in Danbury, CT; Dad was quick to find a job and Mom is busy taking intensive English classes so she can find employment as well. Newtown’s Interfaith Partnership for Refugee Resettlement (IPRR) http://www.iprefugeer.org has partnered with Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Services (IRIS) https://www.irisct.org to welcome and support this amazing family.
