For the past 15 years, the Valencia family has lived in the Chicago St. neighborhood in Rose Park. They have grown familiar with the area, the kids have a close attachment to their schools, and they were close with the neighbors that once lived in the neighborhood too. This once affordable neighborhood is now part of a new redevelopment for luxury townhomes that the Valencia family will no longer be able to afford. The new property owners gave the Valencia family until early March to leave during a time where there are few affordable housing options and long waiting-lists.
They have yet to find a new home and are struggling to find a moving truck, especially to move all the tools and equipment the dad uses for work. These funds will be used to help the Valencia family with a rent deposit and with other moving expenses during this unstable situation. If you are unable to donate money, please let us know if you can help in other ways like transporting their belongings or finding guitar or art classes for their kids!

Están familiarizados con el área, los niños tienen un apego cercano a sus escuelas y también eran cercanos a los vecinos que antes vivieron en el vecindario.
