Help the Schadewald family with medical expenses
As many of you know this story begins with the wonderful local Schadewald family and a request to help alleviate the difficulties of a mother and father who have lost something that we all hold so
dear.
On Thursday June 24th Molly and Wade were violently awakened by the sound of shattering windows when their first home began to burn in the middle of the night. Molly furiously tried to rescue their two cats, Lucy, and Puck, but unfortunately Puck was lost to the devastation. Wade was truly as loving and brave as he frantically searched the home for a safe exit. Molly and Wade were able to escape through a small bathroom window, and the two of them were fortunate to make it to the rooftop where the quick work of the Duluth Police Department was able to get them to safety. Thankfully, Sawyer, their only son, spent the night with grandma and grandpa and was not physically harmed by the fire. Molly and Wade were then separated and taken to both local hospitals where each would spend time being treated in the I.C.U. due to severe smoke inhalation. After almost two weeks in hospital, Molly and Wade have been discharged and will finish their recovery at Wade's parent's home. This fire has physically affected both Molly and Wade which has lead to them both being off work unpaid. As the Schadewald family tries to collect what little belongings they have the medical bills have started to pile on. We're asking everyone for any charitable gift you or your family can afford to ease the burden of the immense medical costs. In these trying times, we understand that people may not have much, but any little bit helps. It is their
sincere hope you will discuss fire safety and an exit plan for your loved ones. If one family is as
spared the damaging effects of a house fire, Molly and Wade would forever be grateful to those
who spread the message.
Thanks you to everyone for their kindness.
