Help The Ridings Adopt

We’re Ashton and Jake Ridings and we’re thankful you have taken the time to check out our Gofundme. We are raising money to help fund our family expansion through domestic adoption! I’d like to share about this adventure we’re on!

We met in 2011 at a friends house and we were instantly both smitten on each other. It took a year for Jake to finally ask me (Ashton) on a date but when he finally did we were inseparable. We became absolute best friends. 1 year to the date of our first date, Jake proposed! 3 months later we tied the knot in a small ceremony. When we got married we knew we wouldn’t have the traditional route to build a family. After lots of prayers and failed fertility treatments we became foster parents! While that’s been great and we love helping the kids and parents re-unite, we still desire children that are ours to keep! Though we are so excited and have been saving for this point for a while, and even sold a rental property to help, we still have a ways to go to be able to pay for everything. A lot of people have been surprised when they find out how expensive adoption is.
An example of fees we are expecting include:
14,000$ for a placement fee (this is due when the baby is placed in your home with you) 300$ application fee, 2,000$ for a home study, 200-4,000$ for legal fees, 5,000$ for birth mom expenses, birth mothers and baby’s medical bills in an unknown amount, and approximately 2,000$ hotel expenses and food for 2 weeks before we could bring baby back to Mississippi. After the baby is born Jake will be out of work for about 3 weeks without pay and I (Ashton) will be out for about 6 weeks without pay.
