Help My Family Get A Car For Winter

My family lives on a tight shoestring. We live on tips from my online writing and on royalties from my books, so we never know what our monthly budget will be. Lately we have needed help just to cover rent. We've been riding the bus everywhere we need to go which is difficult with a small child in a small town with such a limited bus schedule anyway. But COVID-19 cases keep going up in the county and the bus passengers are not masking, not even after one of the drivers caught it and was sick for three weeks. It gets extremely crowded on the bus, making social distancing impossible. My husband has asthma, so catching COVID-19 could easily be deadly for him, and I'm chronically ill as well. I am trying to scrape together funds to buy us a used car so we can travel to the grocery store and other necessary errands without being in danger. Several friends have offered to help us, so I'm putting up this gofundme so all the help can get put together in one place.  We'll also need to come up with money for insurance and other expenses which will cost more than bus fare does, so that and just staying alive is what this money will go to if we get more than what we need for the car or until we get the car.
