Help the Leonard Family Pay Housing Expenses

Rose Leonard and her family find themselves in a difficult situation. The landlord served her notice that her rent will be increasing by $486 per month come April ( the end of her lease).This is a 21% increase! Rose, a single mom, with two children simply cannot afford a nearly $6000/yr increase in rent. Rose has been a valued member of our West Windsor community for four years. Already working as a teacher at HSS for over 30 years, she and her kids made the move here 4 years ago so that her kids could attend West Windsor-Plainsboro’s high-caliber school district. She has loved being a part of our community. She has served it in many capacities. Here are two primary ways:

1) She provides the support our kids need in school to thrive. There are countless number of students who have been touched by Rose’s generosity of spirit to support them in their development.

2) Rose sprung into action when a fire destroyed 24 apartments at the Avalon to provide assistance to the families affected.

Through your donations we hope to be able to ease the financial burden that Rose and her family is experiencing. Having to move is stressful enough. Add to that, Rose is a single mom in the middle of a teaching year during the pandemic. Finding an affordable place to live in the community that she serves is becoming more and more challenging due to a host of factors. Please consider donating to support Rose and her family.

Though we can not forecast where she will end up, it sure would feel better knowing we as a beloved community showed up, ready and willing to help her and her family transition as she had done for so many in our community over her years here. Your donations will be used to help cover rent, security, and moving expenses. This is a fluid situation. Rose and her kids are following leads each day in hopes to find a financially viable solution. Unfortunately the inventory within the budget she needs is low out there. But we remain hopeful!
