Help the Gipson family

My husband and I have been helping a family to try to get back on their feet. But, we are realizing that it will take more than just our efforts.
Louis and his wife, Karteadra, and their 4 little boys are homeless. They have lost their home, their cars, and all of their belongings--everything. Some of you may have seen them at the I20-Maynard Ave exit ramp, standing there in the evening and into the night. We have provided them with temporary shelter in an extended stay hotel just to get them off the street. We are helping them with food pretty much daily and bus fare. We found Louis a job last week and he is proving to be a responsible, reliable worker.
But the hotel is not a long-term solution. Aside from the fact that our family cannot keep paying for everything, this family needs to get into a safe, clean, permanent home. A place to let the kids (ages 9, 8, 6 & 3) be kids, enroll them in school, and begin rebuilding their lives.
Can you join us and help make that happen?
They will need enough funds to secure a place to live (first and last month, plus security deposit), set up utilities, clothe their children, and some basic furniture.
Even with a job, and Louis is working overtime to earn more, when you start with absolutely nothing it is a Herculean task to climb out a hole this deep. Temporary housing is expensive and even if they save every dime they don’t spend on feeding 4 growing boys, it would take them forever to get into a stable, affordable living situation.
Help us get them there. By giving this family a much needed boost, they will succeed. They will get the second chance they deserve.
