Help the CNMI CW-1 workers ineligible for PUA

Donation protected
My name is Jae. I live on a tiny US territory island called Saipan.

This islands economic infrastructure is based on tourism,  which due to covid has halted and was already crippled by 2018 Super Typhoon Yutu.
Massive amounts of furloughs- like many places around the world- and unlike in the states people here have been awaiting any Pandemic Unemployment Assistance since March with no checks sent as of July 10th.

It makes for a very desperate situation for the local economy and local communities.

While looking into the PUA updates I found out the CW-1 workers,  which make up an estimated 13,000 workers over 50% of the workforce are offically "in eligible" to receive benefits at all. The government claims- although they pay taxes from their earnings- it doesnt apply to them.

Not only are they out the income to send back home to families- a common reason for signing the 2 year commitments to the island workforce in the first place- many of them have been furloughed for months,  running out of food, even losing their shelters with no way to get to their home countries.

A group of us here on island see this injustice and have created a fb group to help reach out to cw workers and get them food water and toiletries.  The very basics while this government and their employers continue to ignore them.

Anything you can give to help the CW-1 workers, will go towards food, water and toiletries and is very much appreciated!
Thanks,
CNMI CW-1 Helpers
