We are Anita and Pam. We are longtime West Sacramento residents. We have worked with the YOLO COUNTY FOOD BANK distributing food to the West Sacramento ValHalla Senior community for 3 years. It was during our service to the community that we met Sonja and John.

Sonja and John Craighton have been working with St. Vincent De Paul serving many locations, VOLUNTEERING their time/gas and monies to pick up and deliver the food to the various locations.

As you can see, John and Sonja keep a rigorous schedule meeting the demands of our community.

Monday- Pick Up Food From Suppliers And Deliver To Holy Cross for Distribution

Tuesday- Pick Up Food From Suppliers And Deliver To ValHalla for Distribution

Wednesday-Pick Up Food From Suppliers And Deliver To Holy Cross for Distribution

Thursday- Pack lunches and deliver directly to tenants at The Flamingo Motel

Friday-Pick Up Food From Suppliers And Deliver To Holy Cross for Distribution

Saturday-Pick Up Food From Suppliers And Deliver To ValHalla for Distribution

Every 3rd Saturday they Prepare and serve hot meals to the community in the parking lot behind Walgreens.

Many of you may recognize them from the various work they do throughout the community.

John is the 24/7 Volunteer for St. Vincent de Paul emergency food locker. When he receives a call, at any hour, he goes to the food locker grabs the necessities needed and makes an immediate delivery.

They also pick up and deliver donated items from people who are donating and delivering furniture and necessities to those in need.

On 8/12/23 Johns's truck was stolen from his driveway. Unfortunately, his truck was not fully insured and he is at a total loss of his truck and packing supplies.

He is a humble man and has been trying to figure out a solution so that he can continue his route and continue helping the community.

We are trying to gather funds to help him get into a NEW, TO-HIM TRUCK (nothing fancy) to keep him moving forward with blessing our community.
