Thanks everyone for clicking the link and checking out my family's story. I (Amanda) believe life is about helping each other and reaching out when in difficult circumstances, so here it is. Life has hit my family pretty hard and if you feel in your heart to give, we deeply appreciate it. We stand together, all 10 of us through the best and through the worst, knowing with confidence that Jesus is with us.
We (Sara and I) want to give our family and friends a chance to give to our wonderful family who has been part of the Independence/Monmouth community for many years. My parents have given their lives to us kids, always providing love and support and coaching all 8 of us kids in sports and academics. I feel deeply that it's time we as a community help give back to them by showing them God's mercy and grace in situations that seem too difficult to walk through. I’ve watched them change and greatly touch countless lives by walking in love, and always giving to anyone who needs it. It’s time we take care of them in their need.
Last year my dad was laid off work, underwent multiple surgeries for work related injuries in his neck, lost his ability to sing and finances have been tough. Currently, their house needs a new roof due to water damage, and some other costly fixes that’s vital before being able to stay in their home. They are in the process of finding a temporary home to house 7 (5 kids that still live at home, and themselves). Giving them enough time to fix what needs to be done and have a place of peace while renovating their current home.
By God’s divine timing, my roommates and I just moved out of a 4 bedroom rental house that would be big enough to house my family. Between the deposit and first and last months rent, we need $3600. Along with extra support for basic living expenses, this will help greatly while the construction on their other house is being done.
The construction on their other house could take many months and I am asking for $10,000 right now. This would be to get them set up in the rental and get them started on supplies for their house.
This is raw and humbling, and as a family we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
