Help the Al-Hayek family in Gaza

Hi, my name is Isabelle van Rooij. I created this fundraiser on behalf of my friend Ibrahim Al-

Hayek and his family, who are living and surviving in Gaza. Let me tell you a little bit about them.

Ibrahim and his wife Susan live in the north of Gaza, together with their two daughters, son, and three grandchildren. Their house was bombed and destroyed very early on in the war; after that, the family were displaced to southern Gaza and lived in a tent for 16 months until they could move into a rental house, part of which has been destroyed as well.

Farah is 21 years old; she was studying multimedia and web development at the Islamic University until the war made that impossible. She is supposed to be in her third year now and really wants to continue as soon as possible. Farah is a talented artist (as you can see); she loves drawing and keeps working on her talent.

Yasser is a 17-year-old high school student who loves football, a passion he shares with his father. He is supposed to be in his last year of high school and really wanted to finish his studies, which have been put on hold because of the war. He dreams of turning his passion into a career and becoming a professional football player.

The eldest daughter of the family is Amira. She is the mother of three beautiful children. Kanzy and Hala, her daughters who are 4 and 3 years old. They were both already exposed to malnutrition and illness more than once since the war started, and both of them are in an almost constant state of fear and terror. The sounds of bombings and Israeli planes are far too familiar to them.

The newest addition to the family and source of joy is Mohammed, born just five days ago. Having him around brings everyone hope, but it is also a new challenge because a baby needs supplies like diapers, milk, and more nutritional food for his mother, Amira, as she is breastfeeding.

Since the war started, almost everyone in Gaza has lost their source of income, having to rely on donations to get by. Which is why I made this fundraiser and we are asking for your help and support.

The amount that is needed monthly lies at roughly $1250. The cost of rent is $250, and

approximately $1000 is needed for a minimum of food, drinks, and medicine. Not only the children have suffered from malnutrition, but Susan has also been struggling a lot with her health. She has seen a doctor about anemia and a severe lack of vitamins and nutrients, which are hard to find and really expensive.
