Help the abandoned pets of Slovyansk, Ukraine

Oleksandra and her family are caring for more than 20 abandoned dogs and cats in the city of Slovyansk, in Eastern Ukraine, from which many residents have fled the Russian bombardments. Although they still experience frequent mortar fire and damage to buildings, Oleksandra feeds the community animals, provides them shelter from the harsh weather, and cares for their medical issues, including open wounds, malnutrition and burns. Food and supplies are purchased in Kyiv where they are more readily available, and transported back to Slovyansk by train where they are distributed to the animals. Without Oleksandra, these abandoned former pets would suffer and starve.
