Help Suzy pay her family's COVID bills
Donation protected
Suzy, our beloved co-worker, was recently hospitalized with COVID-19. Her elderly father was also infected, and he is still under intubation. She expects to return to work in a few weeks, but no one in her family has health insurance.
This money will all go directly to Suzy. She would never tell me how much money the bills for her and her father have cost her, but I assume they reach well into five figures. Medical debt is difficult for everyone, but it's especially devastating for immigrants like Suzy, who often have to support multiple generations of their families.
I don't know how time-sensitive her bills are, so I'd like to have a check for her by July.
When I first started working with Suzy, she was recovering from another hospitalization after being dragged under a moving car. She has overcome more than most of us could possibly imagine. She has a large family, all of whom she regularly brings to the shop, including her father (who consistently played ABBA videos on the TV) and her granddaughter (born just last year). That's four generations of one family, always around to support each other.
Suzy told me she's feeling better and that she's excited to come back to work, and that she's still praying for her father. She said the company is like her second home and her co-workers like her second family.
So let's do what a family does. Let's show her we care.
