On October 22, 2026, my mom, Sanovia Lovejoy, experienced a life-changing medical emergency.

While at work, my mom began feeling ill and experiencing severe chest pains. She reached out to a few of her colleagues for help, and after seeing the seriousness of her condition, the school’s SRO immediately called EMS. When Grady EMS arrived at the school, she went into cardiac arrest. The Grady EMS team and the school officer worked tirelessly to save her life through CPR. Although they were able to get her to Piedmont Atlanta Hospital, she was in a very critical condition.

At Piedmont, the doctors continued to lifesaving measures before finally being able to get her stable enough to clear the blockage in her heart. Thanks to the incredible efforts of the dedicated medical team, they were able to save our mom’s life.

My mom is still in the ICU at Piedmont Atlanta, fighting hard and beginning her road to recovery. This has been an incredibly frightening and overwhelming time for our family, and we are taking things one day at a time while holding on to hope and praying for her continued healing.

As my mom focuses on getting better, our family is facing the uncertainty of future medical expenses, household bills, and other financial responsibilities during this difficult time.
