Help support Rose Grady and her Family

Donation protected

Covid – 19 has had an impact on many families but none so much as the Grady family. 2020 put them to the test but they could never have imagined that 2021 was going to get so much worse with life long challenges and implications for their family.

Susie was already dealing with her mum being diagnosed with a degenerating brain disease and then her dad getting seriously ill as well. This is surely enough for one family to deal with and they did so by pulling together and sticking together which is the Gradys preferred way. However more recently they have had their world blown apart by the sudden serious illness that has struck their beloved older daughter Rose. She has now been in hospital for nearly 3 months. There has been no formal diagnosis in this time but they have been told she has had a severe mental breakdown which has caused debilitating physical side effects meaning that Rose can no longer perform basic tasks like self care. It’s been a case of trial and error where medication is concerned but until they can get her into the correct facility for her condition they do not expect any improvement. Susie and Peter are constantly battling to get the correct care for Rose and Susie spends her days pacing the hospital corridors and making phone calls to get help for their beautiful girl.

Susie and Peters world has not only been blown apart emotionally but financially now too, with Susie having to give up her self employed work at the moment as an equine physiotherapist, and Pete has had to make sure he can dedicate his time to looking after their other beloved daughter meaning work has to come second. This is putting so much extra strain on them all.

So we as their friends are asking if you can dig deep to help this amazing family. I know if it were the other way round Susie and Pete would be first in the queue to help us.

Any funds that are not needed will be donated to the BEAT& MIND charities which have helped provide support and advice to Rose and also Dolphin Ward at Princess Alexandra Hospital who have been looking after Rose since the beginning
