Help support my work in Bangladesh!

Unless you're Bill Gates, saving the world is not highly lucrative....at least not yet for me, but I'm working on it! ;). In the meantime, I still need a little help.  I am continuing to pursue what I love, what fills me with joy and what I feel called to do, however this has not come without a cost. The goal is to recieve a sustainable salary for what I love to do, but I am not quite there yet.

On January 15th, I will be heading to Bangladesh with Medical Teams International (MTI) to support the response to the current crisis with the Rohingya. Currently, MTI is managing a diarrhea and Diptheria treatment center, primary health care center and community health worker program.

For those of you who are not familiar with the Rohingya, please see my blog for more background

It is my desire to go and love boldy and it is my heart
to enter into those spaces and places of greatest need.
I feel incredibly honored for this opportunity to go love and serve the Rohingya. This is why I became a nurse; to go and care for the most vulnerable, the forgotten and marginalized, to be present with people in their time of vulnerability and need.

I have decided to raise support for my upcoming trip because while MTI will cover my airfare, lodging and VISA fees as I am serving on their humanitarian response roster, I will not be receiving a salary. This means that I willI be missing 5 weeks of work,  coupled with the fact that I recently found out that I may not have a tenant to cover my mortgage in Feb. and the fact that I still have not fully recovered financially from this past year in South Sudan, which came with several unexpected expenses.  *Full disclosure. Because MTI is covering my airfare and lodging, any donations made are unfortunately, not tax deductible.*

For me, your support will mean that I will not loose sleep worrying about how I am going to cover my bills and expenses while I am away and how I am going to find the time to make up 150hrs of lost work.  Essentially, it would be a huge stress reliever! I would be so incredibly blessed for any financial gift you feel led to give.

I will be leaving on January 15th and will be collecting donations from today through the end of February.

As internet allows, I will be posting regular photos and updates on my blog. Please follow along!

And of course, even more important than finances are your prayers. I'm incredibly excited to be able to share this opportunity with you. I cannot do what I do without the support of my community. This is a fact and this is part of what makes life beautiful.

I am overflowing with gratitude for this beautiful life I have been given and for all of the people across the world who have made my life so incredibly rich.

Here's to living and loving boldly!,
