Help Support Maasai Community in Tanzania, Africa

In a week, my sister, Dr. Elizabeth LeFlore, and I will join my father Doug Hawthorne and my Step-Mother Martha Hawthorne in a 10 year journey to help support the Maasai Community.  Doug and Martha built the Open Arms Clinic in 2011, and since that time they have tremendously helped support so many in the village.

On this trip, there are many initiatives, including, an eyeglass clinic in which we will help provide eye exams and reading glasses.

Many friends have asked how they can support, so I am setting up this Go Fund Me as we continue advocating for this community.  Collected funds will go towards a food program at the elementary school, setting up solar power at the school, buying desks,  chairs, and a filing cabinet. If there is enough money, sports uniforms for the kids will be purchased. 

To give you an idea of how far your dollar stretches in rural Tanzania, $15 will feed 350 students two meals a day. Please consider making a donation that will go directly to the school or Open Arms Clinic.
