Help Support Chester’s family

Donation protected

Please if anyone can help out my sister Kelly & her family I would really appreciate it. They have been through hell and back this last year.

After 6 months in NICU, we thought Chester was finally getting ready to be reunited with his twin brother and his other siblings at home for the first time since being born. Last week he became extremely ill. He is now back on a ventilator and sedated fighting for his life at a level 3 hospital an hour and half a way from home. His heart has become far too big for his little body from over working and we are praying for him to continue fighting like the miracle he has proven himself to be so far. Kelly, Bill & their other twin Otis will be living in Cambridge for the foreseeable future to be able to be by Chester’s side. This has now been 6 months of no income for their family and they need some financial help desperately.

Please read below for their story:

Kelly & Bill found out earlier this year that they were expecting identical twin boys and were over the moon to be giving their 3 children another 2 siblings. The excitement didn’t last long as by 19 weeks, Kelly found out that one of her twins wasn’t growing as he should be and doctors warned that she was likely to lose him. Turmoil hit, she had to have laser surgery to separate the twins in the womb. She was basically told to sit tight and wait for small twin Chester to die. She was then put on bed rest meaning she was no longer able to work, so not only did she have the devastation looming over her that she could lose a twin, income was now also an issue. Things took a turn for the worse and she had to make the terrifying decision to deliver the boys at 28 weeks in order to give her small twin Chester a chance of survival as the monitors showed he was in distress. Even though she was warned she would be jeopardising Otis by delivering him prematurely, when Chester was unlikely to live due to his size.

They were transferred to a level 3 hospital 90mins away from home where Chester was born weighing a tiny 1 lb 1 and Otis at 3lb 7. Kelly & Bill spent the next 7 weeks living in Cambridge to be close to the twins as they battled to stay alive. Chester caught NEC, the deadly disease that is the main cause of death in premature babies, then fought off Sepsis 2 weeks later. He recently had to undergo laser surgery to his eyes to try to prevent him for being blind. It was heartbreaking for the family coping with this while being away from their other 3 children. Most days they would drive the 150 mile round trip to be able to spend time with them all.

Chester has been at Southend hospital since and has been doing amazingly until New Years Eve. His family have been waiting nearly 200 days so far to get him home with them. They are trying their best to remain strong but they are in pieces watching him fighting for his life.

I would like to raise funds to help support them in this horrific time so that they can all continue to be together and concentrate on getting Chester healthy and finally be reunited as a family. They have been so strong throughout this all and I’d love to remove some of the financial stress, as having 5 children to look after in 2 different places would take its toll on the best of us. They have been through so much as a family and I would love to give them one less worry. Please if you can spare anything, no matter how big or small, I know how much it would be hugely appreciated.

Thank you so much xxx
