Help Support Black Hairdresser Latisha Williams

Latisha Williams is an experienced barber and hairdresser who has been serving the San Jose community for over 15 years.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, her hair business has been put on hold, and she was unable to receive unemployment compensation or Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA). She also recently suffered a knee injury and has been on bed rest since June 25.

We are now asking the community to help support Latisha during this difficult time.

Black hair stylists and salons are an ESSENTIAL part of every black community. We develop deep relationships with our hairdressers, often starting from childhood, and rely on them for everything from haircuts to braids, and relaxers to weaves.  Black hair is also a skill set that requires years of training, lots of materials, and immense talent.

With the state of California starting to open up this month, and salons beginning business again, black barbers like Latisha need help now more than ever to restart their businesses and enact safety measures for their clients.
