Help stop the Islands Trust’s power grab.

Hello friends and neighbors, Jamie Harris here.

I am trying to raise funds to help with the fight against the Islands Trust’s new “Policy Statement” and the power they are petitioning the provincial government to give to them that is within the statement.

 

We at “Stop the Islands Trust” have been working

hard at pushing back against the Islands Trust for over a year now starting with the petition to terminate their controversial and very misleading “Coastal Douglas-fir and associated eco-systems project”.

There is plenty of evidence now showing that what they are peddling is false.

 

We are currently working on starting a public information campaign for this coming new year pertaining to the rich farming and sustainable forestry history of the Gulf Islands, from First Nations to the first settlers and up until the present day.

 

Our goal is to bring awareness to all Islanders about

the great opportunities we have and wish to keep, regarding our traditional economies and social well being and how the Islands Trust’s new draft policy statement will put a strangle hold on us all if implemented.

 

We also are trying to find and campaign for at least two new Trustees in the upcoming civic elections in October 2022. It is crucial we get people in Islands Trust positions who will be truly for the people and the way of life we all hold so dear.
