Hello lovely people,
I am raising money to fund my education with the National Youth Theatre; on their Intensive Course for Acting known as 'Epic Stages'. I auditioned for the NYT five times in the past five years and on my fifth go I was awarded a place! GET IN THERE!!
Hard work pays off eh?
Every year roughly 5,000 applicants apply so getting in on this course is no joke! To think a lad like me from one of the most working class areas in England (in the mighty Middlesbrough) got a place on this very prestigious course, it is an absolute privilege. I have grafted and grinded and safe to say getting a place was one of the best days ever!
I am asking for help from my friends, family, community and all the wonderful people I have or haven't come across that work in this tough and brilliant industry.
The course initially would have cost me £1,300; however because of my background and financial situation, I was awarded a bursary of £980 to cover the cost of the course itself and half of my accommodation.
The money I am asking for in this fundraiser would be broken down as follows:
£320 - Remainder of the Accommodation costs (Half of which already covered by my bursary.)
£120 - To cover travel costs from Middlesbrough to Sidcup (Damn you British trains being very expensive)
£60 - To cover the cost of food, toiletries etc. (over the course of the three weeks)
If any of you reading this can help in any way I will be eternally grateful in ways I could never even express. Even if it's giving a pound, or two, or just sharing my story and this post would be unbelievable!!
